    Steam-Tram

The Steam-Tram will certainly be one of the highlights of the International Pinksteren Steampunk Festival. Born from a partnership between the Museum of Fantastic Art and the Tram Museum, the Steam-Tram is a former motor that will welcome, on october, sunday 4th, visitors and steamers of the festival along a route through Brussels.

    A bit of history :

This old tramway with an unusual appearance is actually the result of the assembly of two motor chassis dating from the 1930s, linked together by a tailor-made central element dressed in new bodywork. By carrying out these transformations in its own workshops, STIB was able to produce at low cost a small series of trams of identical capacity to that of a convoy made up of a motor and a trailer, but requiring only one receiver, or even none, when the driver himself collected the tickets. These hybrid vehicles, however, had only a relatively short career.

    But what about steampunk ?

Thanks to the so-called vapor energy, combined with a clever use of coal gas developed in the form of a battery by Professor D, this new powerplant could carry nearly 40 passengers, ensuring comfort finally worthy of the Victorian years. You can rediscover this unique battery in the 4032 car.

To make this first class trip a most enjoyable journey, travelers will be greeted by retro-futuristic receivers and their Victorian Wattman.
